The first one must be designed mentally capable before creating something physically tangible.
ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia — It's fair to say that a designer creates to engage the senses of their target audience. Let's take the 2021 Jaguar F-TYPE Heritage 60 Edition as an example. It is infused with classic Caraway and Ebony Windsor leather interior and its sensational body style, substance, and performance. You can’t find a sexier automobile with such presence, power, and the ability to sell itself. This is the unwritten rule amongst designers; you have to have the magic; you must have a look; it’s how you walk, talk, and breathe. A designer defines the phrase, “You are what you eat” because their ear is always to the street.
"Tsion is Ethiopian built, mastering the western way of branding and marketing."
Tsion Bahru Zewde, owner of the MISS T.CAL premium fashion company. She says I articulate logical geometric, and mathematical formulas when designing for my clients. The very reason I parallel her business model to the 2021 Jaguar F-TYPE Heritage 60 Edition. For one, she is a head-turning beauty, and she refined performance through creativity, craftsmanship, product knowledge.
And technology. Soft on the eyes but unknowingly captivates followers by her unapologetic public delivery, instead of through the lyrics she recites or the empowering thoughts in her platform stories. Tsion is Ethiopian built, mastering the western way of branding and marketing. For most people, it’s tough to become an entrepreneur, let alone commit to managing her global presence. I'm pretty sure many of her followers would agree above the obvious, she's determined, believable, talented, motivating, funny, and consistent. All of this is a part of her day-to-day activities, but she remains an idealist striving for success.
"Ready to get her hands dirty and set her sights on being independent, a BOSSLADY!"
Unlike many Ethiopian children, she wasn’t exposed to many adventures a lot of the kids in the neighborhood were doing at the time. The family preferred to raise their child in a discipline, focus-driven environment using better judgment. These early teachings were developing tools she applied to start her business. Due to her parents' guidance, she wisely took advantage of the time while attending Addis Ababa University. Although socializing was a bit challenging, she leveraged it and gained her first degree in business Administration and Information systems. She was also furthering her education in England, achieving her second degree, a Master of Business Administration.
She had a professor/author as a father for artistic insight and an owner of a consultancy firm as a strong mother for business advice. It’s no wonder her business, strategies, platform, and movement have a fantastic structure. Not to mention, being smart enough to know that building a resume by gaining work hours experiences in sales while for OMEDAD PLC. and HEINEKEN BREWERY will get only better her chances in sustainability when she decides to start a business. After three years of related experiences, Tsion was ready to get her hands dirty and set her sights on being independent, a BOSS LADY!
"I often meditate every morning; this promises a joyful day."
Like many creative people, there’s always that challenge to find something they need that's unavailable or not even made. In Tsion's case, she filled the void through her fashion line. Growing up, she used to tear and rip clothes her parents would purchase; by doing so, this was establishing her self-identity, style, and reputation. This created a buzz and a demand even amongst her peers, which led her into designing. Whenever she would attend events, word would get around that the Tsion outfit was designed by herself. This is the manifestation of MISS.T.CAL premium fashion company, producing a variety of authentic collections; Green Light Effects, Caribbean Breeze, and Drip Addis, to name a few. Amid the Pandemic Tsion, MISS.T.CAL premium fashion company is finding a means through stressing the importance of wearing their brand or custom print mask to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Tsion understands the “no child left behind” theory to not run from challenges. She was working effectively toward support for women and today's youth and collaborating with Tarikwa”, a non-profit organization, and partnering with Sunsilk, a Hair Care: Beauty & Personal Care company, and Lilac, a sanitary manufacturing company in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and supplying needful products for young women attending school and those who live in rural areas. Tsion wants to advance beyond her creativity by implementing education for a better awareness institution.
Having these goals, she says, “I believe meditation is one of the key ingredients to a clear mind in decision making.” Although she exercises five days out of the week to maintain a physical appearance that comforts her but regardless, she stresses the power of refreshing at the start of each day, “I often meditate every morning, this promises a joyful day’’’, with a smile on her face.
When asked, what does the future look like for MISS.T.CAL premium fashion company? Tsion wants to continue motivating and encouraging women to do the imaginable. Support women and kids that need quality support. Boost the morale in women to go further in their education and become a support system, entrepreneurs, or better businesswomen.
